Internet: Programs used: Lightning HTML Editor, Gif Construction Set, Avi Constructor. Has designed own webpage about poetry at: Café Society on Geocities, also a member of a poetry newsgroup. Has worked with animations and embedded midi music files in link pages.

March '93 - Present Link House Magazines - Production Assistant - after working as a temporary Production Manager on Classic Boat magazine, now works regularly as a freelancer on Motor Boats Monthly and IBI as well as Classic Boat, typesetting Brokerage and Display advertisements for a number of major clients in the Boating Industry. Duties include copy chasing; client liaison by phone, fax, email and ISDN; page makeup; scanning. Speed and accuracy are important.

Thresher - Graphic Designer - Working at a branch of Bottoms Up in West Sussex, concurrently with Link House Magazines employment. Produced blackboard signs for inside and outside for one 'home' branch plus others including a branch of Wine Rack. Experience was gained of seasonal shop window displays and exhibition work. Left this employment in February 1998 due to increased workload and better future prospects at Link House Magazines employment.

East Grinstead Courier, West Sussex - Ad Production Assistant. Gained experience of fast-turnover design and production of property, run-of-paper and motor sales advertisements, using QuarkXpress on Apple Mac. Page makeup and some scanning of logos and photographs was involved, working to strict deadlines.
March - Aug
The Willow Group, Horsted Keynes -Temporary Typesetter / Graphic Designer designing for magazine advertisements and exhibitions, using Scantext 950 and 1000 setting computers. Training was given on Apple Macintosh for using QuarkXpress, Aldus Freehand and Chromoscan. First experience was gained of using these programs towards the latter half of this employment.

Interlingua, Croydon - Typesetter / Text Handler - Work encompassed typesetting in English and foreign languages, word processing, desktop publishing, receiving and sending files via fax and modem, file conversion and communication with translators abroad. Produced in-house training acetates and typeset translations for Rolls Royce car manuals. Accuracy was of prime importance.

Reed Information Services, East Grinstead - Advanced Compiler - Compilation and computer input of entries for a specialised industrial directory. The work involved proofreading and regular contact with clients and sales representatives. Arranged layouts of small adverts to a strict house style. Other duties included delegation of work to a team of telesales / telechecker staff. In final year of this employment, performed the Supervisor's duties in her absence and attended managerial meetings on progression of workload.

Self Employed - Freelance Graphic Artist - Design of greetings cards, leaflets, business forms, cartoons, overhead projector slides for Sales presentations. Also designed jewellery.

Agency Work - Temporary Office Clerk - Various assignments including VDU Operator and Sales Ledger Clerk for Blue Sky Holidays.
Jan - March 1980 Litra Machine Plates, Edenbridge - Trainee designer - working on lithographic print projects for magazines and packaging. Duties included paste-up and retouching of film negatives prior to printing.

Qualifications: Surrey Diploma In Art & Design (Graphics) - Four year course at Reigate School of Art & Design.
Courses: Apple Macintosh training course, currently on fifth year of learning Dutch in an evening course, touch-typing course, WordPerfext 4.2, telephone training, correspondence and letter-writing courses, Wines, Beers and Spirits Knowledge (Bronze) with Thresher.
Secondary Education: Oxted County School, Surrey. 2 'O' Levels: Art and English, 7 CSEs: English, French, Mathematics, Geography, History, Music, Biology.
Awards: Editor's Choice for 'Tears for Bosnia' in 'Between a Laugh and a Tear' competition / anthology, International Society of Poets.
